This week at St Mary's Afterschool Club we embraced the sun ☀️ The children sketched wonderful pieces of art outdoors. We enjoyed playing games in the sunshine 😎 and we thought milkshakes were an appropriate choice for our Wednesday bake/treat activity🧋 We have our fingers crossed for more sunshine🌞😁
Our sixth class confirmation candidates traveled to Mount Saint Joseph in Roscrea on Friday to attend their retreat in preparation of celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation next week.
Thanks to Father Lorcan, Deborah, Toni and Patricia of the parish team for facilitating both classes on a very special and memorable day.

Ms. O’Sullivan’s sixth class girls had a wonderful, fun filled morning at Burgess NS today. 🏀🌅
Mrs. Long, her teachers, staff and pupils hosted a brilliant basketball blitz that we thoroughly enjoyed.🙏
The girls were spoiled with glorious sunshine, amazing hospitality, breathtaking views of the Silvermines Mountains and some energetic games of basketball! 🏀
Although the competition was stiff with excellent teams from Burgess NS, Borrisokane NS and Scoil Eoin Naofa, Roscrea; all games were played in a manner that exemplified true sportsmanship. 🙌
Congratulations to our gracious hosts Burgess NS who won the competition at the end, with a tense sudden death round of hoop shooting! 🏀🙌 🏆

Well done to our 13 Camoige girls who represented the school at the Cumann na mBunscoil blitz in Thurles today. They battled hard and did the school proud with their effort and behaviour. Well done girls. #ActiveSchools #sport
There was great excitement in St Mary's this morning when local Hurling stars from @stjosephscbsnenagh arrived to proudly showcase the Dr Harty Cup and Dean Ryan Cup to all our pupils. Massive congratulations to all team members, coaches and CBS staff on their great success. 👏🏆 What great role models for our boys and girls! 🥰
We have had a busy two weeks here at St. Mary's Afterschool Club. We are really enjoying all of the activities.
Senior Infants had their final yoga session this week 🧘🏽♀️ 🧘 We have all thoroughly enjoyed it and we learned lots of new skills and poses. A huge thank you to Nora for teaching us 🙏 and to Ms O’ Connor for organising.

Thanks very much to our fire fighters Déaran O Gorman and Niall Cashen who gave a very informative talk to the third classes today all about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire. The girls will be busy this evening checking that all fire alarms are working in their homes!

We celebrated Pancake Tuesday🥞 In Aistear we were learning all about people in our community who help us. Specifically how doctors and nurses help us👩⚕️🧑⚕️🥼🩻🩺
We started yoga with Nora, which we are loving🧘♀️ We celebrated World Book Day by bringing in our favourite book and teddy to show everyone in our class📚🧸We had a picnic in our classroom 🧁We celebrated St Patricks Day and made some lovely art☘️🇮🇪
We visited the Fire Station. Two firefighters Kieran and David showed us around. Let us use the hose and sit in the fire truck🚒🧯
We had a visit from Garda Maureen👮🚓

We harvested cress and made some delicious crisp and cress sandwiches 🥪🌱🍞🧈

Ms. Majella's Junior Infants have been learning about 'People Who Help Us' and 'Places in the Community'🧑🚒👮♂️💆♂️💇♀️ In Aistear, we took turns buying and selling in the supermarket 👛🍬🥦🍎🍍. We made an appointment and got our hair styled in the hairdressers✂️🪮. We dressed up as firefighters in the fire station and drove the fire engine🚒🏭. We also made our own shampoo in the 'Water Station' and even created some new hair styles in the 'Junk Art' station.🧒👩🦳👱👧
The boys in Ms. Mairead's class were very busy this week. We celebrated National Tree Week🌿🌳🌲 through participating in a live zoom and planting our very own peas, mint and rosemary.🫛🫛
